The Community Affairs Division was established in 2000 to cultivate a partnership between the community and the New Milford Police Department. There are many ways that our Police Department reaches out to the public even before being called for a specific problem.

This outreach is done through presentations to our neighborhood organizations as well as through presentations in our schools for both students and parents. Allowing access to our Police Department, through Community Policing, by means of direct interactions with the public is essential for good Police-Community relations which will ultimately lead to positive Police-Community engagement.
